Oracle Providing Open-Source Support
Recently Oracle has made a small move for providing Open-Source Support to “R”. “R” is an open source language that is designed for data analysis and statistical tools. This is basically designed for those statisticians and data miners who do not have good programming and SQL skills. So taking that thing in view their association with R has been introduced as a Data mining software as a Gift.
R was basically created by Ross Ihaka at the University of Auckland (New Zealand) and now that R will now be connected with a huge community and a whole lot of users whom are constantly struggling and developing new add-on for it.
As now R has been introduced in the form of new software so a lot of new packages have also been included for its development. Like function wrappers, a database (completely dedicated to PL/SQL functions) and lots of peripheral resources that have been added to jazz up the new R experience.
For now Oracle has not fixed any price for downloading this software but as you need Oracle product for this so defiantly it is going to cost you a huge amount of money. Expected expenditure can be of $23,000+ on a processor license, annual customer support and basic features by Oracle.
